A Physician Answering Service That Protects Your On-Call Nights

WarmDesk sends urgent after-hours calls to the right on-call physician immediately, and handles the routine calls itself so your providers aren't paged for a reschedule at 2 a.m.

  • Follows your on-call schedule and escalation rules

  • Delivers a morning summary of every overnight call

#01 - Why it matters

Too many pages, and not enough of them urgent

Traditional physician answering services either page the on-call doctor for everything or bury routine calls in a message queue. Both are costly: one burns out your physicians, the other delays patients. WarmDesk separates the calls that need a doctor from the ones that just need an appointment.

#02 - Capabilities

Built around the on-call workflow

On-call schedule aware

Knows which physician is on call tonight and routes accordingly, including group rotations.

Urgent escalation

Calls matching your urgent criteria are warm-transferred or paged right away, with a summary.

Routine calls booked

Appointment requests, reschedules and cancellations are handled without waking anyone.

Structured messages

Refill requests, lab questions and non-urgent clinical messages are captured for the morning.

Escalation backup

If the on-call provider doesn't respond, the call escalates to the next contact on your list.

Morning summary

Every overnight call, its outcome and any open items, delivered before clinic opens.

01

Separating urgent from routine

Your practice defines what's urgent: specific symptoms, post-procedure concerns, hospital callbacks, or anything a patient describes as an emergency. Those calls take the escalation path every time. WarmDesk never attempts to assess or advise on them.

Everything else, such as appointment requests, directions or billing questions, is resolved or recorded so it doesn't reach the on-call physician's phone.

02

Built for solo and group practices

Solo physicians get one reliable after-hours line. Groups get rotation-aware routing across providers and locations, with separate rules per specialty if needed.

  • Rotating on-call schedules across multiple physicians
  • Different escalation rules per location or specialty
  • Hospital and pharmacy callbacks routed separately from patients
